Interestingly, there is No official Msn messenger app for your android phone till yet. Android users use unofficial msn application for communicating with their friends via msn messenger. Popular application are; Bingo! IM for MSN, MSN Messenger: MercurySlick MessengerGoober Messenger and eBuddy Messenger. Nonetheless the absence of an official MSN messenger has always been felt.

A Chinese version of official msn application for android phone was released back in August, 2010. The application is free and contains ads. However, since then, it was expected that an English/international version of the messenger will be released soon but no application was shown off till yet.

But finally, official Windows Live Messenger for Android App is expected to be released in the Android market, today! Surprisingly (for me), Microsoft has opted to out-source the development of the much anticipated application. The application is being developed by Miyowa, a trusted company for bringing quality apps, and will get the label of “Microsoft’s official application”.

No matter, the application is being developed by Microsoft or Miyowa, it is expected to be a treat for msn messenger users who have always dreamt of official an application!

I have this app on my Motorola Defy and I think it’s poor yet.. you can’t hide it for a long time, and i’t hasn’t got a LED notification like ebuddy or many others IM app. But with a little more work on it, it could be really good.

Which turned out to be garbage anyway! Why the hell can’t MS bring one of its most used services to all the major platforms themselves rather than outsourcing to some crappy 3rd party developer who has clearly done a shoddy job. Ads on the contact list????? Really? WTF! And it doesn’t even support multiple location sign-ins.. GUI is low-res and terrible! Looks so unofficial that anybody would laugh if I showed it to them and said its the official WLM for Android!
On top of all that, its only available in a few countries… seriously, wtf!
