7 Exciting Web Apps in the Chrome Web Store!

Google Chrome web store, an online web store for Google Chrome that houses extensions, themes and web-apps. Some web-apps are particularly worth mentioning. The apps reviewed in this post are free and are not aimed at any particular group (such as developers, project managers, cloud service users or for users from specific etc.) They have a wide-range utility!

Pixlr Editor: This is one of the very useful web-apps in the Chrome web app store that lets you edit your pictures right in your browser. The interface is very much like Photoshop, GIMP or Paint Pro.

The best features that I find in the app are:

  1. It will load quickly
  2. The best thing about the editor is that it will open the PSD files.
  3. The photo-editor is full features with most basic tools such as spot healing tool, clone tool, drawing tool, blur and sharpening tool.
  4. You can also adjust your pictures with tools such as Auto-level, Level, de-saturate and Curves.
  5. The editor includes some of the most important filters such as Gaussian blur, Vignette etc.
  6. No sign-up, and completely free!

My IP Address: You might have wanted to find out your IP for several server applications and other services such as  VoIP , and for that you need to access websites that offer the service. And what if your IP changes just then (as your Internet service provider is using dynamic IP Addresses)? Go all over again and find the new IP, for how many times!? My IP Address is another very useful web-application that will tell you your current IP. That means you need not to be bothered by constantly changing IP addresses, as now you can find your IP with a click!

The app will also list other details such as flags and country names.

JayCut: If you are already using online media converters and video editors then “JayCut” will not be a new name for you. JayCut app will redirect you to the JayCut website that integrates a video editor. The app is completely free, however you will need to register before you use the editor to edit your videos. The videos and pictures you will once load on the app will remain in the database, unless you delete them so you can have all the videos created saved on the website for you.

Jaycut will enable you to add media via from your computer, i.e. load files from your computer, add voice from microphone and even take images from your web-camera. There are almost endless possibilities with JayCut that you can explore even without have to install anything on the desktop. Interestingly I did not experience any noticeable lack of responsiveness in the app. Jaycut is available in 11 languages.

Chrome theme creator: This is a ridiculously popular web-app that lets you create your very own theme easily! Initially before downloading I wasn’t sure if I would be able t work with it or not as it seemed to be some herculean task for me, nevertheless as I ventured in it, it was intense fun! It is intuitive and simple to use!

In the app comprises of two windows, one with which you can set the parameters and the other window will show you the preview. Now you don’t know what are the parameters to set? It’s simple, while moving up and down in the preview window the part to be edited will be highlighted. Essential info will also appear. Download it here.

Anonymous Emails: Send emails to anyone with this simple web-app. The mechanism working behind is simple. All the emails are delivered from an email account “anonymousEmail@ kloom.co.il” t the given email address. The emails are delivered almost instantly.
